Cake Fridays

Happy 4th of July!  I love everything about this holiday.  The eating aspect (BBQ's), the clothing aspect (red, white and blue, stars and stripes galore), and the fireworks aspect (as seen in NH, OBX, Disney World, DC, etc.).  It seems like everyone has a memory of swirling neighborhood sparklers and watching the letters, shapes, and colors they magically create in the sky.  This holiday makes you feel like a kid again through a glamorous, sensory experience.

Now on to dessert!  These cupcakes are quite the sensory experience as well.  They are tender to the touch, irresistible to look at, smell buttery and chocolatey, taste like a cross between a cookie and a cupcake, and will have you hearing oohs, aahs, and mmm's around your table.
These buttermilk chocolate chip crumb cupcakes are by far the most delicate cupcakes I have made to date and they don't even need frosting!  The crumb topping provides that buttery, sweet topper you look for in a cupcake and the mini chocolate chips make for the best presentation.  Soft and subtle, these cakes will have you celebrating the holiday with style :)
