Cake Fridays

It's all about hearts in our household lately.  I feel like we're back to celebrating Valentine's Day!  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  The kids are into drawing hearts, making food into heart shapes, and calling out whenever there is a heart siting in a book, on a card, etc.  So I wanted to share this lovely idea for adding some hearts to your next batch of cupcakes.  Are they cupcakes or are they brownies?  You be the judge.  But anyway you look at them, they are happily delicious!

Heart Brownie Cupcakes
Source: Betty Crocker

I box fudge brownie mix +additional ingredients
1-2 T 10X sugar

Make brownie batter as directed on box.  Fill 24 paper lined cupcake cups with about 2 level measuring tablespoons of batter.  Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  Do not over bake.  Cool in pan 20 minutes.  Carefully remove paper baking cups from cupcakes; cool upside down about 15 minutes or until completely cool.  Cut small heart out of paper.  Place on bottom of cupcake.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar.  Carefully remove heart.  Repeat with remaining cupcakes.
